“The government that is best is one that governs least”

Dear Fellow Citizens,

North Idaho is still a great place to live work and play. We have had some success in recent years in recruiting jobs to our area and creating a stronger economic base. A strong and healthy economy provides opportunity for all to improve their quality of life.

Foreclosures, bankruptcies, the world economy have all played a role in slowing our economic progress. We must proceed with caution to maximize our limited resources to assure that you keep as much of your money in your pocket and that we don’t limit the opportunities for businesses to find success be they large or small.

As I head into my third term in the Idaho Senate, there are many critical issues that need solutions:

• Healthcare
• States rights
• Growing Idaho out of the recession

We must always be mindful that we cannot spend our way out of debt and that government exists only to do what we as citizens cannot do for ourselves.
